1939 Stockholm apartment with a dramatic kitchen

I've always been a sucker for a black/dark kitchen, just for the drama they bring to a place. Inevitably, when I saw the listing for this 1939 Stockholm flat, I was immediately drawn to this beautiful kitchen in dark wood tones. Have you noticed how the colour changes depending on how the light hits, ranging from black to a rich walnut colour? This kitchen really is the heart of the apartment, as you can see on the plan.

The rest of the flat is nice enough, and comprises a rather spacious living room with access to a small balcony, a bedroom, and a bathroom.

Vardagsrum = living room; kök = kitchen; sovrum = bedroom; bad = bathroom

I hope you have a good week!

A stunning cabin in Norefjell, Norway

Take a look at this stunning cabin located in Norefjell, a beautiful mountainous area in Norway just 90 minutes away from Oslo, the capital. On the ground floor of this 91-square-meter cabin, you'll find the entrance hall, the bathroom, and a spacious open plan living room with a fireplace. On the first floor there are three bedrooms, as well as an additional lounge/TV room.

I particularly like what they've done in the entrance hall, with custom furniture providing storage - open and hidden - and also a small bench, very practical to put on and take off your shoes.

Although I'm usually not a fan of 'wood all over', it doesn't bother me here. On the contrary, it adds to the cosiness of the place. I think it may have to do with the ashy wood tones that go well with the black and grey accents carried around the place.

I hope you have a good rest of the weekend!
